Get ready to raise a dram and toast to Scotland! Join us as we host a particularly special event at our Long Ditton pub – The Plough and Harrow – on Burns night, Saturday 25th January 2025. Enjoy an evening where the poetry is stirring, the music is piping, and the food is nothing short of HAGnificent.
Event Highlights:
- Live Music & Poetry: With stirring recitals and lively tunes, you’ll leave feeling plaid you came. Find out more about the infamous Robert Burns, considered the national poet of Scotland.
- Tartan encouraged! Speaking of plaid, traditional Scottish dress is more than encouraged, it’s celebrated! Throw on your best tartan garments and come dressed to impress.
Prepare to be whisked away to Scotland, as we bring you the sights, sounds, and – of course – the flavours of this beautiful country. Immerse yourself in the richness of Scottish heritage with live performances from 7.30pm and Burns poetry readings. From 8pm-10.30pm, the evening will be accompanied by a relaxed performance of traditional Scottish melodies on fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki, and cello, played by musicians from acts such as Garefowl, the Wanton String Band, and Band of Burns.
